Massachusetts Businesswoman Helps Remove Stereotype of ''Male-Dominated Industry'' with Election to Board of National Systems Contractors Association

President of Shanahan Sound & Electronics, Inc. has been at the helm for 25 years

Lowell, MA, August 9, 2007 – Shanahan Sound & Electronics Inc. announced that Catherine Shanahan, owner and president, was elected to the Board of Directors for the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) for a three-year term. Catherine is one of two women on the 13-person board of the organization.

NSCA sets industry standards for the commercial electronic trades and is the biggest resource and support system for more than 2,500 member companies. Catherine’s election to the board recognizes Shanahan Sound’s leadership in the audio systems integration market with its highly skilled engineers and certified technicians. It was Catherine’s commitment to quality service and the ability to make custom integrations easy for customers to use that led the existing NSCA board members to elect her.

“NSCA is an important advocate for the commercial electronic systems industry,” Catherine said. “I’m proud to be elected to the board of such a strong organization and I look forward to carrying out NSCA’s important work in our industry.”

As a board member, Catherine will play an important role in setting industry standards, increasing member value and furthering the mission of NSCA. She will also be involved in providing and promoting educational and certification opportunities that help member companies gain and maintain a competitive edge while at the same time better serving their clients.
